My passion for cooking low calorie, healthy meals began 18 years ago when I decided to improve my health and lose 40 pounds. Weight Watchers and daily exercise changed my life, and sparked a goal to learn as much as I could about nutrition and health.

At the age of 45, I returned to school to obtain a certification in nutrition and wellness, and started taking any cooking class I could find. I volunteered as a chef's assistant at our local cooking school, then went after a certification in weight management.
