As long as I can remember I was interested in nutritious food.

When I was a child growing up in Milford, Massachusetts I would watch my grandmother create macrobiotic dishes as she told me the reasons we should eat healthy, whole plant-foods. We would visit the local natural food store by her house and I loved the smell when we walked in the door - clean and natural.

I decided that when I got older that my first job would be in a natural food store, so when I got the chance, I started working in the small natural food store on Main Street packing nuts and seeds in bags and labeling them for sale.

During college I lost my way for a brief while and decided to take a career in Corporate America to pay the bills.

Midway through my thirteen year career I realized I wasn't on the right path. I began to think about transitioning back to food and nutrition.

When I had my own daughter, she was born with many food allergies resulting in swelling, inflammation and horrible eczema, and had chronic ear infections. I was disturbed by the fact that so many other children were suffering from the same issues. As I began to delve into why this could be, I discovered what is going on in the commercial farming industry – foods full of dyes, preservatives, salt, sugar and fat, designed to create addiction, genetically modified organisms and the conditions on factory farms.

I read the China Study by T. Colin Campbell and learned there's another way - a whole foods, plant-based diet.

As I began to apply these principals to my daughter's diet her eczema and ear infections went away, almost overnight. I lost weight and had more energy than ever - all while eating the most delicious foods I'd ever tasted.

I knew I was on the right path and had to share this with the world - for both our health and the health of the planet.
